Lake Las Vegas

Went to Las Vegas this past week on a trip that was for a banquet to honor top sales consultants for our company. I was asked to create and manage the presentations and therefore asked to go. Rachel got to go with me. We had a great tag team group of people watch the kids that allowed us to be there for the four days. Even though our company is struggling, they wanted to show their commitment to its employees and followed through with the trip. We got to stay at the Ritz Carlton on Lake Las Vegas. This is about 25 miles away from downtown and The Strip so you are really forced to relax and enjoy the surroundings where you are. I had to work most of the time, but Rachel got the chance to take it easy. We had some time to do a few things together as well and Rachel was great at helping set up things for the events. Here are a few pics of the hotel.

10 Year Wedding Anniversary

On May 30th, Rachel and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary. We had the chance to go down to Austin and spend the weekend. We had a great time relaxing. We ate at the Oasis and watched the sunset, got massages and even had a chance to go by the greatest university in the nation and stop at the COOP to load up on more longhorn stuff (you can never have enough). Forgot to take the camera with us, so no pics, just good memories.

Graduation...from PreSchool

On to kindergarten. The kids' preschool had an end of year performance and they even had a graduation ceremony. As they each received their certificate their teacher would announce what they said that they wanted to grow up to be. No surprises here, Abigail wants to be a princess (she later said that she would also be an artist), Caleb will be a train driver and Ethan is going to be a pizza man. I guess you could say he will be rolling in the dough (sorry, had to be done). At the end of the ceremony they even had them toss their caps in the air like a real graduation. They are growing up too fast.

Branson - Memorial Day Weekend

We took a last minute vacation over Memorial Day and went to Branson, Missouri. I had heard that there were lots of fun things to do as a family and it was true. We had a great time. They have a tour called "Ride the Ducks" which takes you on a tour of the area in a vehicle that can turn into a boat. It took us out to the lake and the kids even got to drive the boat. The kids got to go on their first go kart ride on their own and the highlight of the vacation was going to Silver Dollar City. This is an amusement park with an old west theme. I had been there as a kid and it brought back some great memories and a chance to create some new ones. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Where Have You Been?

Haven't posted an update in exactly a month. Wow, time goes quick. Look for some posts soon on our adventures from the past month. We went to Branson over Memorial Day, Austin for our 10 year wedding anniversary on May 30th and now just got back from a business trip to Las Vegas (in which Rachel got to go with me). Will be back to fill in the details and post some pics.
